Abigail

I finally finished my first photo album, Abigail! I had so much fun making her, now I'm addicted!

For this book, I used a beautiful designer plaid and solid blue silk taffeta. The book is made with Binder's Board and ribbon bound.

There are 25 sheets of heavy weight card stock, allowing for 50 pages. Each page is bound with satin cloth in order for the pages to fully open and spacers between each page, to prevent stress on the spine when filled with photos. Photos can be attached with photo corners, glue, or self-adhesive mounting squares.

More books coming to my Etsy store soon!

Wall Art

A frustrating attempt to find the perfect wall hanging for the living room bumped into my search for ottoman fabric. I came across fabric by designer Anna Maria Horner, specifically her Drawing Room Collection. Even though the fabric wouldn't work for the ottoman, I fell in love with it and decided to order, even if it meant I would just hang it on the wall

.....so I did
Sealer made for canvas from an art supply store transforms the fabric into a suitable wall hanging and enhances fabric colors.

I'm currently working with more Anna Maria Horner and Amy Butler fabrics for wall decor and will have them available in my Etsy shop soon. Have a fabric you love and would like me to turn it into a wall hanging? I'm eager to hear special order requests!

(The lampshade? Another work in progress!)

Inspiration

Looking for fabrics online to recover my ottoman, I discovered a designer, Amy Butler, that creates beautiful, unique, colorful and energizing fabrics! Excited but unable to decide on one fabric, I was thrilled to find a local retailer The Top Stitch. I enlisted the help of my mother's sewing talents

The result.......

A very fun ottoman that matches my very green couches!

Unable to cover everything in my house with these fabrics, I've been inspired to use them in different ways........soon to come!

New and Humble Beginnings

Welcome to Creatively KEPT!

Creatively KEPT began with an idea that came from my mother, and her business Sycamore Shades. Extremely talented, she creates lampshades as the restoration of antique shades. Her idea began with the desire to create a book for each restored lampshade describing the restoration process. With very little time, outside of creating lampshades, or interest in working with paper, I was eager to help her with these books.

After taking a major time out from creating, due to busy motherhood, once I started creating again, I couldn't stop. Creatively KEPT is the result of this new beginning!

These books were designed to accessorize the shade. The bird and colors on the shade are repeated on the cover of the book, while antiquing techniques are used on the paper.

Here is another beautiful shade designed and created by Sycamore Shades.
